Summer 2022 Nature Camp Counselors
 
Position Title:            Nature Camp Counselor, Day Camp
Location:                    Beaver Meadow Nature Center, ( Near Buffalo, New York)
Position Duration:    July 6th to August 20th
Hours:                           40 hrs./wk (M-F)8:30 am-4:30 pm
Salary:                          $15.00 / hour,  $600-$700 week, 7 weeks
 
Description:   You’d be a Great Nature Camp Counselor if you:
  • Love nature and being outdoors
  • Have an enthusiastic spirit
  • Work well with kids, and enjoy guiding outdoor nature activities
  • Want a fun, good paying and rewarding summer job in the outdoors at a beautiful nature center
 
To apply, here are the details:       
  • Be at least 18 years of age, prefer college students seeking summer employment.
  • A love of working with children,  grades K-8             
  • Experience working in camps is a plus,
  • Ability to adhere to COVID-19 protocols developed for the camp
  • Willingness to maintain camp areas with high standards
  • Be certified in First Aid and CPR, or be willing to come to our training for First Aid and CPR.
  • Lifeguard Certification is a plus
  • Physically able to lead activities such as walking, running, climbing, and lifting 40 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a background check and proof of immunizations
  • Must have transportation to and from the Nature Center
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

Camp Counselor Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement the camp curriculum in coordination with the Camp Director.
  • Lead and support campers as they participate in age-appropriate nature camp activities.
  • Clean and maintain proper use of camp facilities and equipment.
  • Report and record details, such as accidents or violations, to parents and the Camp Director.
  • Participate in camp training from July 6-9, 2021.
